Dorit Baxter Day Spa Policies and Customer Guide

Here at the Dorit Baxter Day Spa, we strive to ensure that our clients have the smoothest possible experience. Below you will find a list of FAQs so that you can become better acquainted with our spa!

1. How do I make an appointment?

In order to make an appointment, you can contact us by telephone (in New York: 212.371.4542 or toll free at: 800.836.4542) or by email (info@newyorkdayspa.com). In order to reserve your appointments, we require a contact telephone number and a credit card number with expiration date or valid gift certificate number. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time; for groups of three or more please arrive half an hour before the appointment time. If you arrive late to the appointment you have scheduled, we unfortunately would have to shorten your treatment time and retain the original price of the appointment. We do this as a courtesy to the guests who are scheduled after you.

2. How do I cancel/reschedule my appointment?

If you would like to cancel or reschedule your pampering session, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment. A cancellation time for groups is made on the authorization form. If the appointment is not cancelled ahead of time, we do fully charge for the treatments that are reserved.

3. How do I book a group event?

A group spa party can be booked by contacting us with the names and treatment choices of each member of your group. We create an authorization form that includes all of the information for your group party that you must complete and return to us with your signature and credit card information in order to reserve our rooms. A specific cancellation policy will be created for your group.

4. How do I pay for my appointment?

We accept all major credit cards (American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diner's, and JCB). We do not accept personal checks. We ask that the gratuities for our therapists be provided in cash.

5. I have a gift certificate/voucher for my appointments, but I forgot to bring it in. What do I do?

In the event that you have forgotten your gift certificate/voucher, we will charge you for the treatments we have scheduled. This charge will be fully refunded to you once we receive the original certificate (not a copy).

 6. I have an appointment! What do I wear to the spa?

We provide our clients with comfortable robes and slippers. You will be able to change out of your clothes and keep them in your own locker. We do ask that you keep your jewelry at home. If you have scheduled self-tanning or sea salt body scrubs, we suggest that you do not wear silk.

7. I'm pregnant, can I still have spa treatments?

At Dorit Baxter Day Spa, we offer prenatal care and relaxation in the form of massages and facials. However, because of the heat involved in our body wraps and treatments, we do not offer them to our expecting clients. The most relaxing treatments requested of us by our pregnant clients is the foot massage (not reflexology, as we do not want to activate pressure points), massages to reduce fatigue, and facials.
